The tour destination is the Kyrgyz Range of the Northern Tien-Shan Mountains. During the tour you will go up from 800 m above sea level to 2600 m and pass through different climatic zones - from steppe to high mountain forests and glaciers. You will have a chance see the diverse fauna of Kyrgyztan from small rodents and birds to the largest inhabitants of the mountains - vultures and goats. Then there is the snow leopard - the very symbol of Kyrgyzstan - in the high, wild mountains. If you are lucky you will be able to see this magnificent, proud animal. In the early morning, as the Sun's first rays creep over the horizon, you can witness a timeless scene as wild goats and boars come down to the watering-hole. Photos taken during the trip will allow you to keep these unforgettable impressions for life.
Itinerary
| Day 1 | Arrival in Bishkek. Family run accomodation. City tour in the afternoon. |
| Day 2 | Drive to Berulu village (51 km). In the afternoon - horse riding. Overnight stay in a hunting lodge (1400 m). |
| Day 3 | Trek to the Ak-Suu River (8 hours). Overnight stay in tents on the river bank (2000 m). |
| Day 4 | Trek along the Ak-Suu River (8 hours). Overnight stay in tents (2300 m). |
| Day 5 | Trek up the Tuyk River (5 hours). Overnight stay in tents (2700 m). |
| Day 6 | Trek to the Western Karakol River (6 hours). Overnight stay in tents (2300 m). |
| Day 7 | Trek up the Sokuluk River, where you will be close to the glacier. Overnight stay in tents (2600 m). |
| Day 8 | Trek to the Ala-Archa Gorge and mountain camp. Depart Bishkek (40 km). Rest in family run accomodation. |
| Day 9 | Fly home. |
Level of difficulty: You should be reasonably fit as the treks are on average 6-8 hours each day and the overnight stays in tents are all above 2 000 m.
Conditions: It is necessary to bring a sleeping bag, warm clothes and trekking boots.
