Since ancient times, the Great Silk Road has attracted people from different countries. This road has become a bridge between peoples. Now you have a great opportunity to go along the Great Silk Road, to return to the past.
This tour offers you an excellent chance to get acquainted with the rich history and nature of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. During this tour you will visit magnificent historical places related to 11-19th century: the fabled mosques and Madrasses of Samarkand and Bukhara with their marvellous design and tiles, see Great Kyrgyz Mountains, relax on the shore of Issyk-Kul lake - the Pearl of Kyrgyzstan, learn about the culture of Central Asian peoples and eat the tastiest national dishes.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Tashkent. Transfer to a hotel. Sightseeing tour in the afternoon.
Day 2

Transfer to the airport and flight to Urgench. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to Khiva (30 km). Accommodation in a hotel. Sightseeing in Khiva.

Day 3 Transfer to Bukhara (500 km). Short rest on the way for lunch. Accommodation in a hotel.
Day 4 Full day Sightseeing in Bukhara. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 5 Extension sightseeing in the morning. Transfer to Samarkand (300 km) in the afternoon. Accommodation in a hotel.
Day 6 Sightseeing in Samarkand. Accommodation in the hotel.
Day 7 One day trip to Shakhrisyabz (100 km.). Sightseeing in Shakhrisyabz. Transfer back to Samarkand late in the afternoon. Accommodation in the hotel.
Day 8 Transfer to Tashkent (290km) and transfer to the airport. Flight to Fergana. Accommodation in a hotel.
Day 9 Sightseeing in Margelan and Rishtan. Visit the Silk Factory "Edgorlik" in Margilan. Transfer to Rishtan (51 km) and visiting of ceramic workshop of Rustam Usmanov. Transfer back to Fergana late in the afternoon. Accommodation in the hotel.
Day 10 Transfer to Andijan (3 hour). Then transfer to frontier point 'Dustlik". Transfer to Osh. City tour in Osh: four-headed Sacred Suleiman Mountain in the center of the city with stone inscriptions, signs and the ancient settlement of the Iron Age on the southern slope of it, caves of Suleiman Mountain with History Museum. Overnight stay in the private guesthouse.
Day 11 Transfer to Kazarman (300 km). Visit Karahani's minarets (X-XIII C.) in the town of Uzgen. Family run accommodation.
Day 12 Transfer to Son-Kul Lake (3000 m above sea level). Local people live and graze their cattle on the meadows (jailoo) around the lake, from June till September. You will live in a yurta - traditional house of the nomads.
Day 13 Free day on Son-Kul. You can enjoy the fresh, clean air of mountain walking on the surrounding hills. If you have no horse riding experience, now you have a chance to get horse riding lessons. Overnight in the yurta camp.
Day 14 Trip to Tash-Rabat (250 km). There are beautiful, high, mountain valleys along the route. Visit a historical resting place on the Great Silk Road - the Tash-Rabat Caravan-Sarai (12th C.). Overnight in the yurta camp there.
Day 15 Transfer to Kochkor village (250 km). Visit a felt carpet workshop, where you can not only buy souvenirs but, produce them yourself. Overnight in family run accommodation.
Day 16 Transfer to Cholpon-Ata (150 km) along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake the second biggest mountain lake in the world. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 17 Free day in a resort on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. You can relax on the beach under the tender Kyrgyz sun or walk along the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake and enjoy the fresh, sea air. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 18 Transfer to Tamchy. Here, in a local workshop you can watch how felt pictures are produced. On the way to Bishkek (250 km) you visit the Burana Tower (XI C.) the remains of Karakhanid's empire in Central Asia. Accommodation in hotel.
Day 19 Flight home.

Level of difficulty: There are no difficulties on the route, but sometimes are long transfers for 5-6 hours.

Conditions: It is necessary to bring warm clothes.
