Trekking Tour
Duration: 9 Days
Season: Middle of June - End August
The diversity and originality of the flora of Kyrgyzstan has
been conditioned by the heterogeneity of the natural conditions in, and complex
history of, the formation of the terrestrial surface of Tien-Shan. Here there
are species from the North (spruce, honeysuckle) and from Central Asia -
juniper.
The natural distribution of plants in Kyrgyzstan is subject to the law of
high-altitude zoning. During this 8-day tour visitors will see changes in
vegetation and soil from the dry steppe zone to the glacier zone.
The Chon-Kemin Valley, through which the tour takes place, had, in the past,
been the bottom of a small lake. In the course of your trek you will cross two
valleys, two mountain rivers, one of the largest ridges of the Northern
Tien-Shan and will reach the mountain lake of Issyk-Kul. Here the plant kingdom
is presented at its most diverse.
The animal world is also rich in this region: there are marmots and hares, and
in the glacier zone - mountain goats.
For lovers of medicinal herbs, it will come as a great surprise to find out that
all plants in the region (more then 60 types) are medicinal.
